About UPS & Our Culture

Accuracy is the invisible architecture behind every UPS delivery promise — and our Fulfillment Center Inventory Associates are the analysts who keep that architecture honest. In a network that processes millions of packages weekly, the difference between a perfect fulfillment operation and a service failure often comes down to whether one inventory count was done correctly. If you are an analytically minded person searching for inventory associate jobs near me that reward precision over speed, provide a technology-rich working environment, and come backed by the Teamsters union contract, UPS fulfillment inventory work is the most intellectually engaging warehouse role in our entire operation.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"Inventory associate work is completely different from standard sort floor work — it is slower, more methodical, and requires genuine concentration. I audit bin counts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain the system accuracy that makes everything else in the fulfillment center work correctly. UPS recognized my analytical skills quickly and I have already been nominated for a quality control lead position. This is the best inventory associate job I have found — the union pay is strong and the career path into data and operations management is very real." - Current Inventory Associate, Dallas, TX.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Fulfillment Center Inventory Associate, you conduct systematic audits of package counts, routing accuracy, and scan compliance across the active fulfillment center floor, resolving digital discrepancies in real time and maintaining the inventory integrity that the entire downstream sort and delivery operation depends on every shift.

• Cycle Count Auditing: Perform systematic counts of assigned inventory zones using a handheld scanner, verifying physical package quantities against digital system records and documenting every discrepancy with the detail required for accurate correction and root-cause investigation.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate inventory count variances — tracing missing or excess packages through scan history, adjacent zone searches, and supervisor consultation — resolving each discrepancy to system closure before the next sort cycle begins.
• Scan Compliance Monitoring: Audit belt-level scan rates across assigned sort areas during active sort windows, identifying packages that bypassed scanner reads and manually capturing every missed scan to maintain the chain-of-custody accuracy UPS customers rely on for real-time tracking.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Fulfillment Center Inventory Associates receive Teamsters union wages with a precision-role pay premium, full medical, dental, and vision benefits, pension accrual, paid personal time, and UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance. The analytical nature of this role creates a direct internal pathway toward UPS quality control, operations management, and industrial engineering career tracks — making it the highest-upside entry point for detail-oriented individuals in our entire fulfillment worker lineup.
